Bio & Education
I studied a Bachelor of Education (Primary R-7) and Bachelor of the Arts (Visual Arts Major, French Minor) at Flinders University. I am trained to teach students from Reception to Year 7 and have spent 2020 in a 1.0 teaching position at Parafield Gardens R-7 in a year 6 role.

Why I became a teacher
Why did I become a teacher? Because I love teaching! For as long as I can remember, my teachers have always been role models who I aspired to be like. Teachers are encouraging, motivating and inspirational, and mine were people that made positive impacts on my life. I want to be able to make a positive impact on my students’ lives too.
I became a teacher because I want students to have someone they feel safe to turn to when they are unsure, and someone they turn to when they are happy and proud because they feel valued in our professional relationship. I truly believe that educating students is such an important role, and for me, it is that sweet-spot of profession, passion, vocation and mission; teaching is my purpose. Primary school is so important because it is where our students develop the people they are going to become. I want to guide these students to become not only great learners with a passion for education, but life-long learners who contribute positively to society.
Teaching is a profession which rewards me every day, and it is a passion of mine that I will continue to love through the years.
My life outside of the classroom
Outside of the classroom, many of my teacher quirks roll-over into my personal life. Absolute obsession with brightly coloured, slightly scented textas? YES. Glazed-eye, dream-like state walking into a supply store? YES. Love for team sports and maybe a little over-competitive? YOU BET!
Joking around aside, I am married and based in the Southern Adelaide Region of SA. I grew up exploring the beaches and rolling hills of this beautiful Southern State, and continue to do so now with my own family. Camping weekends, sailing along the coast, and afternoon drives through the hills are some of the ways I prefer to spend my free time. In the Summer months, you’ll most likely find me in the hammock out the back either reading a new book or grading work, and in the Winter you’ll see me on the footpath with my gumboots and yellow raincoat, or cooking up a storm in the kitchen.
